VA3045 CSA #1 Horz Pair Stone 1 Positions 41-42 (91-92) (4-Margin with a large lower sheet margin) tied by the Tudor Hall, Va CDS 2 MAR 1862. Addressed to Mrs. E. C. Steele, North Port, Alabama. Very minor reduction at the right. Very clean cover with a very nice pair of stamps.

The cover was sent by Captain Abner Newton Steele (1826-1862) of Co G 11th Ala Inf home to his wife Eleanor Caroline Thomson Steele. Before the war, Capt Steele was a North Port merchant. He was killed at the Battle of Frazier's Farm 6/30/1862 which took part on the 6th day of the 7 Days Battles.
