VA2992 Small double circle BLUE Portsmouth, Va CDS 15 JUN 1861 stampless cover PAID 5 Type A. Addressed to Mr. Rice, Freight Agent, South Side Depot (South Side Railroad), Farmville, Va. Portsmouth was occupied by the Union in May 1862 so was a Confederate town for only a relatively short period of time. Very minor reduction at the right where opened and a sealed edge tear at the right, otherwise a very clean cover. $150.00
