7/21/1861. Private Fowler was reportedly killed in Virginia during
skirmishing 8/22/1862. The unit immediately went to Norfolk,
Virginia and served throughout the war in northern Virginia. Capt
Camille E. Girardey (1830-1889) mentioned in the endorsement, served
