Wingfield, Washington, Ga. The cover is from Capt John T. Wingfield to his wife. Capt Wingfield entered service in 1861 in Co A 9th Ga Inf and subsequently had service in various Georgia artillery units beginning in late 1861. He is listed as wounded at Gettysburg 7/3/1863. At Gettysburg, he was a company commander in the Ga Sumter Light Artillery. At the time of this Petersburg cover, Capt Wingfield was a company commander in the 11th Ga Battalion Light Artillery.
