(1845-1925) of Co I 1st Va Cav
who is the one most likely to have sent this cover home to his sister.
Private Beard was captured as a POW at Mountain Ridge (Va) 9/29/1864
while on recruiting service. He was confined at Point Lookout until
exchanged 1/17/1865. Minor edge and corner faults and a little light foxing but still a very clean cover. |
