CSA #12 (KB) (4-Margin but close at the top) tied by the BLACK
Petersburg, Va CDS 14 MAR (1865). Addressed to Mrs. Edward H.
Lane, Louisa Co Ho, Va. Cover was sent by Sergt Edward H. Lane
(1828-1879) of the Va Louisa “Morris” Light Artillery to his wife. After
the war, he became of Judge of the Circuit Court in Louisa CH, Va before
dying of consumption in 1879. Clean cover with two minor vertical file
folds not affecting anything. Nice late usage from the Siege of Petersburg.
