| VA2144 | CSA #9 T-E-N (margin in at the top) tied by a partial strike of the Richmond, Va CDS 25 MAR (1864). Folded Letter Complete written on lined notebook paper to Doctor Francis T. Stribling, Staunton, Va. The letter concerns requesting a medical certificate to get a soldier out of service for medical reasons. The medical reasons would be mental as the addressee was the Director of the Western Lunatic Assylum in Staunton. Only the soldier’s first name is used in the letter (James). Very clean cover but the folds are reinforced on the inside with archival tape. | $800.00 |
