CSA #11 (AD) (margins tight left and right) rouletted (Harrisonburg Private
Roulettes) on three sides and tied by the Harrisonburg, Va CDS 22 OCT
(1863). Light coarse paper cover with Military Address to Christian S.
Baker Care of Capt John Glaize AQM 2 Corps ANV Camp near
Warrenton Fauquier County (Virginia). Christian Streit Baker
(1839-1924) was a private in Co A 5th Va Inf which was a unit in the
Stonewall Brigade of the 2nd Corps. Capt John Glaize (1822-1901) was the
2nd Corps AQM in 1863 to early 1864, so most likely Private Baker was
detailed to the Quartermaster at this time. Private Baker was captured as a
POW some time in April 1864 (place and circumstances not given) and
confined at Camp Chase until exchanged 2/25/1865. Very Fine cover Ex-
