Powell Type 2a 20 AUG 1861 Dietz Type III 2(ms) Drop Letter. Cover is
from the Stephens Correspondence addressed to the Vice-President in
Richmond, Va. Only part of backflap missing and usual summary on the
back “Robt A. Matthews Richmond Va 19th Aug wishes Mr S to give him a
letter to Hon Mr Meminger reconsidering him for a position in Treasury
Depart.” Minor reduction at the top and a small sealed edge tear at top
center. Cover is very clean and retains a Very Fine appearance Ex- Brian
Green.
