VA1721 Soldiers Due 10 handstamp with the Culpeper CH, Va CDS Dietz Type I 25 SEP. Coarse paper homemade adversity cover addressed to Miss C. E. Wilkinson, Cusseta Chattahooche County, Ga. Endorsed at left “Private W. K. Wilkinson 31 Regt Ga Vols.” William King Wilkinson enlisted in Co G 31st Ga Inf 11/10/1861. He was captured as a POW at South Mountain MD 7/4/1863 and held at Fort Delaware until exchanged 3/7/1865. No further record. Very clean cover with a slight reduction at the right just into part of the address. $100.00
