Small but complete cover with Military Address to Col Wm Preston Johnston ADC, Richmond, Va. William Preston Johnson (1831-1899) was the son of CSA General Albert Sidney Johnston (killed at Shiloh) and served as military Aide-de-Camp to President Jefferson Davis. After the war, he held positions at Washington and Lee University and the University of Louisiana before becoming the first president of Tulane University in New Orleans in 1884. Very Fine cover (very minor paper clip mark at upper right) with CSA Certificate #3540 from 1999 signed by Jerry Palazolo. $700.00
