| VA1530 | CSA #2 Paterson Stone Y (4-Margin Light Greenish-Blue) tied by a very nice strike of the Blue Petersburg, Va CDS 30 MAR (1863). Small pink paper lined ladies stationery addressed to Mrs. Rufus Owen Wolf Trap Halifax Co., Virginia. Addressee is very likely the wife of Capt Rufus H. Owen (1830-1892) Company G 6th Va Cav, but do not believe the cover is from her husband as it is definitely ladies stationery, and the Petersburg postmark does not coincide with the location of the 6th Va Cav in the Spring of 1863. Sealed edge tears at top center not affecting anything. Very nice example of the Stone Y stamp. | $300.00 |
