| VA1114 | CSA #4 Stone 2 Horz Pair (left sheet margin and a little gum toning along the right edge with margin in at the upper right corner) on the reverse used to seal the backflap and tied by the Richmond, Va CDS 24 JUL 1862. Very small but complete ladies cover addressed to Miss Mattie K. Martin Statesville, N. Carolina. Statesville is lined through and the cover forwarded to Mocksville NC with the addition of CSA #6 Horz Pair (very fine 4-Margin stamps) to the front of the cover to pay the forwarding fee. CSA #6 Pair tied by the Statesville NC CDS 30 JUL 1862. Very Fine forwarded cover with excellent combination stamp usage. Cover can be folded out so that both sides of the cover can be displayed together. |
