CSA Alabama Cover RT8

USA #26 tied by a bold full strike of the Montgomery, Ala CDS 4 FEB 1861 (First Day of the CSA Government from the Capital City). Blue lined ladies cover addressed to the North to Mrs. Jane H. Wilkinson, Southwick, Mass. Believed to be one of only two known covers showing 4 FEB 1861 usage from the Confederate Capital, but I am unable to confirm this. Upper left corner professionally repaired using a piece of the backflap not affecting anything and restoring the cover to an Extremely Fine appearance. There is also a prior unidentified owner’s typewritten note on the back of the cover from 1960. An extremely significant item of CSA Postal History.
