USA #24 (single) and USA #26 (strip of 3) pen-cancel and manuscrupt “Long Cane, Ga April 30/61” to the left USA Used in the CSA. Addressed to W. W. Saylor Esqr, Sonora, California. This cover at the present time is the only known example of a cover from the Confederacy showing the 10c Trans-Continental rate to California. Period notation on the back of unknown significance “Answered & letters returned from the Dead Letter Office at Washington.” Very Fine. Ex-Kramer.
