USA Star Die Grid Cancel and the Charleston SC large single rim CDS 20 DEC 1860. Addressed to Mr. Wm Ellison, Stateburg., So. Ca. This is the ultimate Confederate First Day Cover as it is dated on the Secession Day of South Carolina (the first state to secede and therefore the first day of the Confederate Period) from the city where it all started. The cover is slightly reduced at the left and only very slighty reduced at the top not affecting anything. Extremely Fine Appearance. CSA Cerificate #3174 from 1998 signed by Jerry Palazolo. Ex-Antrim.
