The cover is from the Rives Correspondence addressed to Mrs. A. L. Rives Care of Lieut Col Alfred L. Rives, Engineer Bureau, War Department, Richmond, Virginia. Alfred Landon Rives (1834-1903) served mostly as the second ranking officer in the Engineer Bureau and was promoted Colonel in 1864. Very Fine. | $425.00 |
