| MS381 | CSA #7 Horz Pair (4-Margin but close at bottom left and a nice darker blue color) tied by manuscript “Arkabutla, Miss March 4 (1863).” Very obscure usage from Tate County in the Vicksburg area which is not currently listed as a CSA post office. Wallpaper Cover with a showy green, pink, and gold floral and leaf design displayed flapped over from the left. From the Muldrow Correspondence with a railroad address to Mrs. Henry L. Muldrow, Tibbee Station, Mobile and Ohio RR, Miss. Henry L. Muldrow, a lawyer by profession, was the Lt Col of the 11th Miss Cav which was formed in the spring of 1864. Col Muldrow had prior service as a Captain in Co C 14th Miss Inf which coincides with the time of this cover. After the war, he had a distinguished political carreer serving in the Mississippi State Legislature and the US Congress as well as serving as a trustee of the University of Mississippi.
