CSA #7 Vert Pair (4-Margin) tied by the small double circle Vicksburg,
Miss CDS 25 JUL (year not apparent). The stamps are clearly Richmond
Print stamps whose current EKU is 7/25/1862, and the date in this postmark
is clearly 25 JUL. This cover is unlikely to be an 1862 usage of the
Richmond Print stamps as the stamps could not possibly have arrived in
Vicksburg that quickly from Richmond. Most likely this is an 1863 usage
with an error in the date logos as Vicksburg fell to the Union 7/4/1863.
Date errors in early 1863 Vicksburg postmarks are not unusual. Very
coarse brown paper cover which appears to be a homemade adversity cover
perhaps during the Siege of Vicksburg but not proven addressed to Mrs. A.
J. Sanderson, Vaiden, Miss. Very clean cover with just a small part of the
backflap missing.
