circular and was torn in half on opening but has been put back together
so
that the tear is barely noticeable if at all) tied by an excellent
strike of the
Savannah, Ga “Stars” CDS 15 JUL
1862. Pays the 2c rate on a folded
circular (Railroad Freight Bill of Lading) addressed to G. B. Lamar,
Atlantic & G RR (Atlantic and Gulf Railroad). Cover originally
included in
the exhibit to show the Savannah “Stars” fancy cancel. This cover was
used
as an illustration on Page 65 of Gen Bush’s Fancy and Unusual Cancel
book.
