CB21 CSA #2 H&L (4-Margin affixed sideways with a small upper sheet margin and a small horz pre-affixing edge crease at the left center) tied by a partial strike of the Richmond, Va CDS (date not apparent). Coarse paper homemade adversity cover addressed to Miss Adelaide Hutchinson, Greensboro, Alabama. Apparently the postmaster at the receiving post office did not think the stamp was adequately canceled by the Richmond postmark to prevent reuse, so the stamp also bears a pen cancel and is tied by a grid cancel applied as a receiving mark at Greensboro. Cover with a very Fine appearance. Cover originally included in the exhibit to show the use of a grid as a receiving cancelation. SOLD
