Blue paper cover addressed to
Mrs. A. S. Smither, Huntsville, Texas. The strike of the cancel is just
a
little weak but it is a very distinctive “10” handstamp which matches
Dietz
Type B of the Huntsville, Texas markings.
Cover therefore represents a
significantly Overpaid Drop Letter where
the Huntsville postmaster simply
used whatever handstamp device came immediately to hand to cancel the
stamps. Very Fine Cover. Cover originally included in the exhibit to
show
the handstamp “10” canceling the stamps.
