HB9 CSA #11 (KB) (4-Margin) tied by the Albany, Ga CDS 5 APR 1865 (year date is in the CDS). The cover has been professionally cleaned which has somewhat faded the address. But the address is still legible to Miss Ruth L. Nesbitt Care Maj Thomas Nesbitt, Augusta, Geo. Very late use only 4 days before Gen Lee's Surrender.

Thomas Nesbitt (1821-1879), a wealthy planter, in Georgia state service first as a Captain in the 9th Regt Georgia State Troops later in 1864 Major of the 1st Ga Infantry Militia Brigade. Ruth L. Nesbitt was his daughter according to the 1860 Federal Census. The sender of the cover is not identified.
