CSA #9b T-E-N Gray Blue (4 Large Margins and a beautiful stamp) tied by the Danville, Va CDS 18 MAY 1863. Coarse brown paper cover addressed to Mrs. James J. Thornton, Forkland, Greene County, Ala. The cover has been professionally restored at the top, and the top back flap has been added. The resoration is extremely well done and is barely noticeable even on close inspection. The stamp was lifted for the restoration and then replaced very slightly out of its original alignment. The restoration does not include the stamp, the postmark, or the address. Very Fine stamp and an overall Very Fine appearance to the entire cover. Ex-Bogg. CSA Certificate 2007 which describes the restoration.
