CSA #11e (AD) Officially Perforated 12 1/2 (margin close on the left but perfed on all 4 sides with the usual ragged and blind perfs) tied by the small double circle Mobile, Ala CDS 23 DEC. Addressed to Miss Mollie McCalla, Columbus, Miss. The original letter is not with the cover. What appears to have happened is that the envelope itself was used as paper to write another letter as the wriitng on the back begins "Dear Cousin" and extends onto the front of the cover. The handwriting of the letter written on the cover is not the same as the handwriting of the original address. Bears further research. Very interesting cover with an excellent example of the perforated stamp.
