Handstamp PAID 10 with the Princeton, Ark CDS Dietz Type IA all in
GREEN 25 MAR (1862). From the Carroll Hoy & Co New Orleans
Correspondence with the usual filing pinholes. This cover is very likely one
of the original three recorded examples of this usage since it has the “R. H.
W. Co.” (Raymond H. Weill) handstamp on the back. But it is now
apparent that there are more than three examples of this Green handstamp
paid. The count now is at least five and perhaps six examples. Still a very
scarce item. Cover is very clean and all original and quite presentable but
has a large sealed tear at the bottom right.
