Handstamp PAID 5 with the Tuscaloosa, Ala CDS Dietz Type IA 15 OCT (1861) addressed to Mr. Gains Whitfield Jr Care of Mr. B. Croom, Montgomery, Ala. On arrival in Mongomery, the cover was forwarded to Demopolis, Ala by lining through “Montgomery” and applying the Montgomery, Ala CDS 17 OCT 1861 without apparently assessing an additional forwarding fee. Overall Green University of Alabama College Cover Dietz Type II without “Tuscaloosa.” Minor vertical file fold at left, otherwise Extremely Fine with 2004 CSA Certificate.
