Greenwood, South Carolina. 2nd Use (outside): Appears to be a forwarded usage with remnants of a removed stamp at the upper left corner (town of origin unknown) and addressed to Rev B. Manly DD Care of Thos Barlow Esqr, Tuscaloosa, Lowndes County, Alabama. Tuscaloosa is lined through and the cover forwarded to Benton, Alabama with the addition of a CSA #12 (AD) (4-Margin) tied by the Tuscaloosa, Ala CDS 23 SEP (1863). Period notations on the back of the cover which appears to be an extension of the sender’s letter written on the outside of the cover. Interesting and unusual cover with what appears to be a triple usage. Inside usage displayed with upper left corner folded down. | $750.00 |
